@Lili We're fine. Not in a flood plane and I don't think either of our jobs are directly effected by the damage of the floods (wife works for a homebuilder that is receiving warranty claims). The impact to us is currently luckily very little.

@Lili every president will be questioned about everything...but it's a sad day when their people have to wonder what their reaction would be.

In all fairness, most people only found out Omaha was a city then Manning was shouting it during games and they googled it. But that still leaves non sports fans.

@Lili NZ feels like it's close to equivalent to this. 50 lives lives lost on the other side of the world vs a natural disasters that's devastating a strong community on the home front. Feel like everything else is largely because it somehow has to do with Trump and that's always ratings from hate watching or praise.

@Lili Don't know why. Incredible helicopter rescues. National guard assistance. Community coming together. Everything you'd think the news would salivate over. Also an excuse to show good in the world.

Water in Fremont (west Omaha/Douglas county) has evidently crested, barring an ice jam. Way South east, Offutt is mission essential with one gate closure. Sandbag efforts are complete. Onto recovery.

I know there have been some articles, but is anyone seeing national coverage?

@evamarie Waterfront of Omaha actually expected to not be as high as a few years ago (2011). Bellevue to the South and Fremont and other to the West are getting hammered.

Offutt today. Looking NW from the Southern tip of the runway. You will see to the west of the runway that some buildings are in the water now.

Regarding my last toot- big black vertical line is Missouri River.

The one forming an L is the Platte. They would normally be the size of the state/county lines. Douglas county, which houses Omaha, is in the middle and the shape of Iowa.

Hi. There is a lot of flooding going around near me. If you are interested in keeping up on it, the bird site has a great account called Omaha_scanner. A few days ago there was an incredible rescue you can read the second to second updates for. The accounts for Sarpy Blotter and Bellevue Police are good as well. Just make sure it's Bellevue, NE. To provide context for the magnitude, the base is prepping sandbags and I29 north and south from Omaha are closed.

@th3j35t3r much appreciated! River is closing in on the base.

@th3j35t3r do you have your flood tool available for Omaha? Missouri/Platte flooding.

Anyone hear survive that bomb cyclone that briefly wiped Colorado Springs off the map Wednesday night?

Ha! Marvel got their Gunn back! Happy effing Friday!

@Render must be the entirety of that border then?

@Render guessing this is the hashtag I was seeing...but what is the line of control exactly?

Watching a nameless horror movie on Hulu. Found footagey. Dude accidentally films girl that he likes in the dark in a nightie. She gets mad. Afterwards as he apologizes, says he had to put the camera in the fridge it was so hot.

Such a dumb cheesy line, but also a friggin great line.

@ParanoidAndroid I'd argue that Aquaman is the only DC property that could be LEAGUES better than any of it's...brethren?

Aquaman is leagues better than any other DC movie in recent history.
