So corn is technically a fruit. Which makes bourbon a fruit juice and appropriate to drink for breakfast.

Along that same line of thinking, potatoes are a breakfast food too - which means vodka is an acceptable substitute for hash browns.
@Kurtroedeger Since beer is technically liquid bread, you can have your shot and chaser, (with a coffee of course).
