Kiddo is back from his Italy trip. He had a good time.
He said he ate so much pasta that he doesn't want any more for the rest of the month. The bread was meh because it was to crusty and not soft like he likes it, but he also had the best pizza of his life in Assisi.

@Kurtroedeger Oh you have a convert in your midst.
Once you have had *real* Italian pizza nothing else will do.

@stueytheround I know. He will be chasing that pizza for the rest of his life. A taunt of a memory that bubbles up with every slice he bites into. A hope and a tease again and again. Aged, he'll look back, forgetting the basilica he toured, no thoughts to the cobbled streets he walked. His mind always turning to that pizza. Drawn in to the scents, the flavors.

@Kurtroedeger When my stepson graduated college in 2000 with honors, we paid for him to travel across Europe with his friends for what turned out to be 7 weeks. This summer, one of Mr. Carolina’s golf buddies had a son graduate and paid for a trip to Italy for him. Sounded fun, until Mom decided they should ALL go. What is it with these helicopter parents??

@cassandra17lina oh I wanted to go with, but not in a helicopter mode. In more of a jealous mode.

@Kurtroedeger I was fortunate to be able to travel to Italy twice when my husband went there on business trips. It’s breathtakingly beautiful and a treat for all the senses. You must go if you can!

@Kurtroedeger Italy is wonderful- food and culture and fun. Glad he enjoyed it.
