Today is a double holiday. Again, not one I would recommend completing simultaneously, but you do you.
National Licorice Day
National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day
@Fiikus_goddess see, another cheese day!!!
@Fiikus_goddess do you eat the salty licorice?
I've had it a few times from sweden. Nice when someone shares, but not something I would typically look for. I don't mind the salt, it's just a bit much of it at first.
@Kurtroedeger It has levels. Intesity and saltiness differs. And some get really sour too.
It can be a bit much to those not prepared.
I like soft Aussie-style licorice, and this stuff... it's soft licorice with a slightly minty coating.
@tyghebright I think in the UK they're called "comfits"??? Often multicoloured. @Fiikus_goddess @Kurtroedeger
@stueytheround @Fiikus_goddess @Kurtroedeger
They're a little different from comfits--a the soft filling is a little bigger and the coating is thinner and not as hard. They're like little pieces of chalk.
(Comfits are more like the U.S. Good & Plenty candies.)
@stueytheround @tyghebright @Kurtroedeger
We call them Liitulaku, chalk licorice. I love those. My jaws don't, but I do. 😂
@Kurtroedeger I do. Not all the time, but there are days when salmiakki (the finnish name of salty liquerice) works.
Also, great for car candy. 😂😂
