Shipped another batch of homemade gingerbread cookies to my 98-year-old mother in Massachusetts. Her senses of sight and hearing are failing but sense of smell and taste are still going strong. Her mother used to make these for us and I never dared to try replicating them until my mom requested that I try last year. Ever since, I’ve been churning them out six dozen at a time every few months.
