I guess I've mentioned this before, but for those of you who enjoy relaxing, well produced travelogues, Traveling Robert (Robert Morales) is the one to follow.

Great production values, original music by Robert himself, and simply very enjoyable armchair traveling across the United States and occasionally abroad.

No affiliation -- I just enjoy his videos. You might, too!

There's this chap in Finland who makes delicious cloves. I bought a few jars from him last year at an , but they didn't last long.

I've been trying to catch him since then and finally today, he was at another archipelago fair and I seized the opportunity to stock up and bought seven jars.

Everything he makes is delicious, but my favourite is the Naga Jolokia garlic clove pickle. It has good heat and that delicious, fruity Naga Jolokia flavour!

Considering all the recent media attention on the phenomenon —

The claims are extraordinary. Hence, the proof must also be extraordinary.

Yet, there is none. What we’ve heard and read have been anecdotal and suppositional testimonies.

They aren’t entirely void of demonstrative value, but they aren’t compelling, or conclusive proof of what has been claimed.

Conclusive, extraordinary evidence is required.

Well. The vacation is over and it’s back to work tomorrow.

Bollocks.

I just scarfed down six home-made tacos.

I regret nothing.

Now, my LTE modem/router doesn't support a frequency lock. An oversight on my part, when I bought it a couple of months earlier.

That's an inconvenience, however, as the base station I'm using serves both LTE 800 DD and 1800 Mhz, and my router keeps switching between the two. Not sure why.

Anyway, I need to buy a router that supports a frequencey lock, so that i can lock down -- as it were -- to the frequency that provides the best speed.

- "That's" -- not sure where that came from! :umm_wut:

So, today I installed two Iskra P-60 Unicom MIMO 5G/4G/LTE/GSM antennae with 600-3900 MHz range and 2 x 10,5 dBi amplification.

Our summer place is in the middle of the and we've had mobile speed and connection issues for many years. These directional antennae boosted the signal greatly and RSRP and RSRQ values are very good.

Downstream speed increased from 3-6 Mbps to well over 30 Mbps. This will do nicely here, even if it's not super fast.

That's

Every now and then I rewatch The X-Files.

I still remember seeing the first episode on the tv, so many years ago. I was mesmerised, fascinated -- for a nerd like myself, it was pure gold.

The later seasons weren't as good, but the first few were brilliant, and they still are.

Mark Snow's score is an indispensable element of the show. I can't imagine The X-Files without that sound.

I just watched a couple of the earlier episodes. They haven't lost any of their magic.

Oiled the dock and the deck today, and afterwards rewarded myself with an adult beverage. 😎

I’m a big fan of Isaac Asimov’s ‘Foundation’ novels. Especially the first three are brilliant.

I’m not a fan of Apple TV’s ‘Foundation’ TV series, to put it mildly. It has precious little to do with Asimov’s novels, and frankly, I think it’s rubbish.

I’ll watch the second season, out of morbid curiosity, but to say I don’t have high expectations would be something of an understatement.

So still and quiet.

I suggest that authentic agency is advised and validated motivation.

In other words, we can find intrinsic to consistently exercise our capacities over time, to act in the world, advised by our awareness of what is, and how and what we can know about it.

Here's a great side dish to go with many things:

* Slice button mushrooms fairly thinly.
* Chop up a good amount of dill and mix it in.
* Optionally, finely chop a clove a garlic and a little red chili.
* Add a good pinch of salt, freshly ground black pepper, a good amount of olive oil, a few tablespoons of white wine vinegar, and mix it all together well.
* Let it rest for 10-15 minutes. Mix again. Add oil and vinegar if needed.

Serve as a side dish, on a baguette, etc. Delicious!

The breadth and quality of information and training available online, for free, is pretty astounding!

I don't go to the movies, anymore.

I stopped going since 2017, when i saw Blade Runner 2049.

I remember the sound pressure hurting my ears. I had to put my fingers in my ears to block the sound. It was the first time in the cinema that I really felt scared by the excessive volume.

Since that day, I've had in my left ear.

And that's why I'm not going to the movies anymore. I don't care if the movie is "meant to be seen in IMAX format" etc.

I'll watch it in the comfort of my home.
