“ According to research into the molecular changes associated with aging, humans experience two drastic lurches forward, one at the average age of 44 and the other at the average age of 60.
"We're not just changing gradually over time; there are some really dramatic changes," geneticist Michael Snyder of Stanford University said in August when the study was published.
"It turns out the mid-40s is a time of dramatic change, as is the early 60s.”

@cmskiera I felt the first one in one way and the second one in another way, the second one affected me more in the limbs , like knees and things like that , I’m 61 and that change is beginning.
I remember thinking "man, turning 45 sucks" and more pain, loss of flexibility and slower healing, @Jorro. Not looking forward to two years from now!
@cmskiera at 45 I was in perfect shape, right now is my problem!!
@LnzyHou I’m 61, I felt the first one in one way and the second one in another way , but I felt them both too .
@Jorro Punctuated aging. I'd say my scale is shifted 10 years 50/70
@gemswinc maybe your genetics have something to do with that shift ? My wife is ten years older than me and she looks younger.
@Jorro Not so much how I look, but phase changes in my health. I'm in a plateau right now
@gemswinc to me is the opposite at this moment, something inside me is changing rapidly.
@Jorro
Interesting, I didn't notice the shift at 44! But dang, I did see it when I turned 60!
@Spagesgallo1 that second one is the one that is affecting me more too , I feel like and old man sometimes and I’m just 61.
Me too! I have good days and not such good days. I'm only 63. I also believe that stress plays a huge roll in our aging process.
@Spagesgallo1 I’m 61 years old and I get stressed about everything this last week has been particularly difficult, I feel the effect.
@Jorro
Oh, how I feel you about that! I'm a bit neurotic and that doesn't help either! Hoping that you find some peace within soon! Feeling stressed, on edge and anxious are the worst!
As for what is going on, maybe try and limit your exposure. I know it might be difficult. But at least try. Do something instead that brings you pleasure and makes you happy. 💛
@Spagesgallo1 I tried to stop watching news about politics but I can’t, knowledge is power , the good thing is that we have a nice place with excellent people in #CoSo , we can talk about anything, here we have real conversations!! I don’t understand why people want to go to Blue Sky , if you don’t have a famous name everyone ignores you , that is a plus , here people post a lot of information, real facts , not conspiracy theories, here is an example from Tribel.
@Jorro I understand. Yes, knowledge is power! I just learned the hard way the 1st time with trump that watching the news only made me fearful and I was having major anxiety attacks. So I don't watch it anymore. But if it works for you that's all that matters. I know what you mean. I don't understand either why people are going to BlueSky or Tribel.I gave up trying to figure that out. They must still be in the Twitter/Facebook mindset. Agreed! CoSo is the only place to be!
The post from Tribel...I tried it when I left Twitter. Didn't last a week. It is a disgusting platform. Loaded with bots, scammers, trolls and men just looking to hookup. Totally creepy! Then I found CoSo...thank goodness for that!
@Spagesgallo1 @Jorro it doesn't show @Spagesgallo1. I've always found your avatar photo beautiful and ageless.
Aww, thank you for your extremely kind words! I definitely have my mother's genes. She was 81 when she passed. But she actually looked much younger than her actual age. Having oily skin while growing up definitely has helped to keep the wrinkles at bay. 🤣 As for the physical, well that's a different story. Constant stress over the years has definitely taken its toll.
Shit, I remember the one at 44/45, and now I've got two years to get ready for the next one, @Jorro 😬
