Yesterday I got a shot of novocain and steroids deep into my hip, in between the hip bone and socket, which are essentially bone on bone now. The shot won't help the bones, but it has virtually eliminated all the pain I was feeling. They say this could last anywhere from 6 days to 6 months. My doctor still wants me to think about replacement surgery in 6 months so, but for now, this is great.
@BillieBun
I’m beginning to think y’all are right about that.
@Jeber Remember, the shots are temporary and the effects might stop at any time.
@Jeber Get the hip replaced.
Suffered 10 yrs, bone on bone, putting off hip replacement. Had anterior procedure which was easier than I expected. Knee replacement was tougher.
Both procedures are life-changing.
Just do it.
@Jeber do the steroids include cortisone?
Glad you are getting relief!
Wishing you luck on that, but the longest period of relief I've ever gotten from a steroid shot was about one week.
@BenA
The doctor told me that for some the effects last months and for others days. I’m going to enjoy the lack of pain however long it lasts.
i'm glad you're feeling better. ✌🏾🙏🏻
@Jeber Don't let it make you forget how bad the pain was...... you probably really need the replacement surgery.
