Am I the only person who grew up not liking board or card games? My housemate and his kid always want to involve me in Risk or some board game and I have to keep turning them down. I wasn't raised by wolves, I just get board easily, and card games and board games don't keep my interest.

@Jene_Sais_Quoi
I'm so glad I was old before video games were invented. Those would have had me never leaving the house.
In the Army (1976), we had a video array that showed all 24 channels of electronic intercepts on one screen. Think the Matrix. Sometimes I'd replay a tape just because 24 oscilloscope traces looked so cool. That would have made a great video game.

@Jeber It's okay to not like them.

There is a series on youtube called Tabletop, hosted by Wil Wheaton, that goes over a lot of different board and card and dice games. It cold be something to look at if you are actively trying to find something you might enjoy.

But don't feel bad or weird. We all like different things, and that's just how it is. Be happy they're inviting you to join, but don't be mean when turning down. They want to share something they enjoy with you.

@sentientdessert
I never mean. They both know I'm just being honest. Besides, they need time together with each other.
I'm not looking for card or board games. At my age, I've probably been exposed to most of them at one time to another.

@Jeber I’m not a big fan either but I will admit that when I was young, I loved playing the card game “Authors.” Yes, I was a little nerdy.

@Jeber
Does Operation count as a board game?
I hated Monopoly, loved Operation.

@JustRed
In my world it does, buy it's not as bad as Monopoly.
