When it comes to disagreeable content, you have three choices:

1. Set up filters so you never see it.
2. Mute/Block the offender.
3. Simply let it scroll on by.

I'm fast becoming a huge fan of that last option. There is no reason in the world why someone else's content on the internet should affect us.

Not among those options? Lambasting people for not using hashtags. You have no say in how anyone posts. It's much easier to just let it scroll on by. #RandomThoughts

I'll also add this: barking at people over hashtag usage makes us all look like shit. Use the tools. That's why they're there.

They'll figure it out eventually, and if they don't, that's what mute is for. ✌️

I'm sure they'll correct me if I'm wrong, but the folk behind accounts like @MovieNights and @CoSoTips are volunteering their time, energy and expertise to run those accounts.

No one is paid to do that.

If you're posting comments like 'why aren't you going to do XYZ?', perhaps take a moment and remind yourself that they're regular users like you doing everyone in the community a good turn.

Perhaps ask what you can do to help instead.
