This is the face of a mother, a sister, a daughter, a cousin & a friend.
The face of a woman who is always tired, but always tries.
The face of mental illness & wellness and psychological warfare from within.
This is the face of trauma & survival.
It's my face & I love it.
Full disclosure: on my journey I have needed help more times than I can count, but I am happy to say, I'm reaching again and tomorrow I start CBT.
I can hardly wait to see what the future holds for me; I feel it is good.
@RandomUsr thank you so much! And I have also found that to be true from personal experience- my problem is my recovery is like peeling back the layers of an onion, and sometimes I have to start over again. Kinda like it comes in waves... the trick with changing the thoughts, is to catch it when they start to turn back or stay consistent. I feel good about this.
@RandomUsr OMG!!! You are so right! Boundaries are extremely important and need to be set for individual health, but also healthy relationships! I am a firm believer in the benefits! Only those seeking to control don't like boundaries.
Mindfulness is something I also value, but still struggle with, so I am hoping CBT helps me with that.
I found peace with Eckhart Tolle

@Periwinkle thank you for sharing! I might check that out tonight. So far, CBT is woeking too, but it's one of those things that only works if you work it ... positive vibes your way πππ
@Jax_Wild_4_Life Let that be the road to empower you.
For me, I found hope in recognizing how I felt and setting boundaries and sticking to them.
I might suggest to be mindful of the little things. Peel the layers back one at a time and smile each time you notice a step forward.
