Twitter was an unprofitable business when Elon Musk bought it, not even a year ago.

But he’s made the BUSINESS part of it, not to mention the product, so much worse. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone ever ruin a business of that size ($44B) in this short of a time period. It’s incredible.

I think Elon Musk bought Twitter in order to break it.

Guessing it wasn't a Tesla seeing as it stopped for a human standing in front of it.

And because so many academics see their work as a form of political activism, it's really easy to find ones who are happy to get the press attention.

And while I'm bitching aloud, reporters shopping for academic/experts to find one that will cater to the reporter's preconceived notion of what a story should be about yields slanted/erroneous coverage.

Parallel problem: A reporter writes one or two stories on an extremist group and no longer contacts experts for input because the reporter now considers himself/herself as knowledgeable as any expert.

[Pounds head on keyboard] There's a new crop of experts opining to the press about everything from sovereign citizens to the Oath Keepers and they have no idea what they're talking about. [/Pounds head on keyboard]

Since his election, Trump has been credibly investigated for 56 separate crimes, for which he has been indicted exactly zero times.

The guy was impeached TWICE and suffered NO consequences at all -- and now he's running for president AGAIN.

Right?

I mean, goddamn, the laws and the Constitution ALREADY don't apply to Donald Trump and never have.

What more does he want?

(Yeah, I know: all of it)

Here's a guy who committed a crime every day for most of his life, from medical fraud to get out of serving his country to numerous sexual assaults to a running a scam "charitable foundation" to endless tax evasion to extorting foreign countries to destroying government records to stealing classified documents to repeated election fraud and campaign finance fraud to SEDITION without ANY consequence or accountability of any kind whatsoever.

Trump demands we terminate our laws and the Constitution and install him as dictator.

Ironic.

Not just ironic, but hilariously ironic. Over the top ironic. Exploding weasels and flaming clown shrapnel ironic.

I just got an email from Sarah Longwell thanking me for my continued subscription to the Bulwark. Does that mean we're now buds?

The lead singer for the Blossoms--the voice you hear on the recording--is Darlene Love. Over the years, she has been one of the most sought-after background singers in the business. She also played Murtaugh's wife in Lethal Weapon.

If all this sounds iffy--it was. Spector has always been cray-cray. A musical genius, yet. But also a stark raving loon.

However, the Crystals were on tour and unavailable for the recording, so Spector hired the Blossoms to perform the song in the studio and then credited it to the Crystals.

One odd quirk about "He's a Rebel" is that it wasn't recorded by the Crystals--it was recorded by another group called the Blossoms. Spector had the Crystals under contract, but heard that Vicki Carr was going to record the song and wanted to beat her to the market.

However, though it lacks strings, "He's a Rebel" was the first number 1 hit to have that distinctive Spector trademark--the "wall of sound."
