@Rickbflony of course computers are only able to function based on what they are programmed to do. It’s always been the way it is ever since I learned to be a SIC back in the day. If you don’t put it in right, it doesn’t work and if you don’t put it in at all, he comes up with something different. I have not programmed in basic and Pascal for a long time.

@thedisasterautist yeah I was kind of surprised because she said in your window and I go yes and then she starts. Ask me about my husbands job and I thought well haven’t gotten any W-2s file with my taxes for quite some time now. And I started laughing because what else can you do. He’s been dead quite a few years. It was just one of those crazy things that happen I guess.

And so I was talking with my doctor and he wanted to check the sounds my stomach make. And I said I had Roux-en-Y surgery. It took him a couple of minutes to figure out that I have a stomach pouch and it doesn’t make noise.😅. I offered to show him the surgical scars if you wanted to take a look at it. I’ve seen him for a few years that I don’t understand why he doesn’t have it in his records. 😂 he is a really nice guy, a great allergist who goes above and beyond.

They must’ve changed the questions they ask people each year at the doctor I saw today because I don’t remember any of these and I’m sure I would have. And one of them was asking me questions about my husband’s work and I looked at her and said, I haven’t seen any of his W-2s from the other side. I don’t know what he’s doing.. The woman was horrified. But he’s been dead for many years so it’s not like I was in shock. I am marked as a widow, so I was a little confused.

@PR4UK I’ve seen people here talking about the breakdown on Twitter and I knew nothing about it. In writing group today we were talking about the risks of being on Twitter and how I had withdrawn from it. But I haven’t had time to really look at news or social media I just saw it here and I thought oh good I missed the drama.

There is a problem on the bluebird hellscape? I am so far removed now I had no idea. 🙂 Plus, crazy busy day.

@JohnAustin In this case, race is irrelevant. In a criminal case the state must prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt. In a civil case it is preponderance of the evidence, essentially 50%plus 00001%

No 5th Amendment. Depositions compelled. Production of documents can be compelled.

He'll have plenty of money The right wing will fund his defense the same way they did the criminal case, .

@kel

I used the be the lawyer who poked holes in arguments, much to the disgust of team members. I pointed out if I could find the holes in the case we had to figure out how to fill them. Because the other side is rarely stupid.

Yeah, if you have a problem with a project and don't fix them then a spectacular fail is coming your way.

@WILDKATZ No offense taken at all. As I said, I'm looking for another tree with Abbott's name on it. (tongue in cheek).

Why would I block you over a miscommunication? That seems extreme. This isn't the bluebird hellscape the last time I checked.

@Floki_ Years ago I did research for a judge who wanted to order insurance companies to cover spouses after a divorce. I found out that almost all health insurance in America is ERISA. Federal. A state judge can't order a federally regulated insurance plan to do anything.

Each company (mostly) picks a cafeteria plan with the best/cheapest in ERISA and the most expensive/most limited being state regulated.

Seems to me employers should use the same plan and we'll call in national health care.

@WILDKATZ As someone from Texas (who wishes another tree would fall on Abbott) the problem is falling trees and branches.

If BETO (whom I voted for) had won he could not have run around Texas and caught all the branches and trees.

It isn't Oncor. There was plenty of electricity.

One tree that went down a few miles away was so tall it fell across 2 lane road and knocked down a power pole on the other side.

Abbott sucks. Oncor sucks. But in this case, mother nature sucked worse.

@MookyTroubadour FYI, autocorrect e.e. not cummings I am be. Not order, words important fix.

"I love cooking my family and my dog."

@TrueBloodNet Welcome. There's information on this on Snopes and other references. I figured Reuters was something most people would recognize as authoritative.

Russian bots go after both sides of the political arena.

That said, I can't stand DeSatan.

Been listening to a lot of Avett Brothers recently.

The weird thing about this song "Bang Bang" is the question "Have you ever had a gun pointed directly at you? And there isn't any doubt it's ready to go" is something I've experienced.

Most people who talk about shooting people in self-defense have never been on the other end of a loaded gun. In my case it was a cop who almost took me out.

@MookyTroubadour agree with you function do I of suggest personal.

Amazon won't let me upload the cover for the paperback because... 🤷

Instead, I worked with a young writer on a 5k word chapter.

98% of adverbs and 95% of gerund sentence starts are gone.

Passive restructured to active.

Tenses corrected.

Merged repeated material.

Eliminated info dumps,

Contractions are your friend in dialog.

Its now 4k, flows and has restructured sentences.

Story and voice intact! 🎉

I went from cursing Zon to having a great day!

I swear the next book I write is going to be the 10,000 things I should have known about self-publishing. Except I'm pretty sure I still don't know all those things.

I feel like one of my characters who keeps complaining she needs a Things That Don't Work manual.
