An interesting article on hacktivism. I know DDoS attacks have been an issue here off and on.

This is about how Social Security is declining SSDI claims based on out-of-date job classifications.
@TheRealDelia if you think it’s super frustrating for you, imagine how we feel.
If she can read them, it’s always good to have a pencil and paper around to clarify what you just said. And if you don’t understand what’s going on and you miss hear what’s being said it’s pretty easy to end up feeling anxious.
Put Otter AI on your phone and as you’re talking. It can transcribe what you’re saying so she can read it.
@TheRealDelia i’m not sure that you understand the issue with hearing loss. It’s not anxiety. It’s that she doesn’t freaking hear you. You need to make sure that she knows you’re talking to her. You need to stand right in front of her so that she can see you when you talk. You need to speak clearly and distinctly.
And you need to understand that many words are easy to misunderstand when you are somebody like your mother or me who has hearing problems. Hearing aids are not eyeglasses
@JanGoesWriting #WritingCommunity I'll be editing today.
Happy Writing.
@insomniacviolin Lets hope they took care of their patient. My first social work job involved working with patients and doing patient advocacy.
These days I have a friend who was the first person with 85% 3rd degree burns to survive at Parkland in Dallas. As you can imagine, he has skin problems and sometimes requires wound vacs.
The visiting nurses are great. Sometimes the VA hospital requires beating around the head and shoulders.
@insomniacviolin It's a damn shame that the patient has to be the one to suffer. And yeah, I know that if one gives and inch they take a mile, but the patient is the one who's harmed by not getting the care they need.
I hope there's a patient advocate at the hospital who can beat people around the had and shoulders to get the patient the care they need.
Sucks the hospital is manipulating the patient's family.
@NikkiBuschEdit I use a iPhone and can scan
to Notes. However, if it requires detail, there is nothing that replaces high end flatbed scanner.

Yes, but I"m not a fan. Cannon ImageClass MF113w. It's a PITA.
Saving up for a better one, preferably a Brother like the one I had before. But I have two scanners so I'm only going for wireless printer.
My old Brother was amazing, but only a printer. I find that it's better to have separate machines. The cannon requires a copy command from the computer and THEN opening the scanner to put in the document.
@kel #CoSoCooks - this is a new cookie recipe and unusual for me as it's from a box.
1 box cheap brownie mix
¼ cup cocoa powder
1 egg
2 tbsp chocolate syrup
1 tbsp vegetable oil
3 tbsp water
Mix well
On plate:
½ cup powdered sugar
½ cup crushed peppermint candy
Roll 1" ball in peppermint/sugar on plate.
Bake @ 350° for 11 minutes
Let cook for about 5 minutes
(I used parchment paper)
To fancy it up put a Hershey's Kiss on top (wait to cool)
Voted best this year by my cookie lovers
@walterbays There's nothing wrong with that post place, I'm just not impressed with the hand out for everything.
Apparently, the concept is that they'll be getting micropayments to support the place. Seems to me that's an easy way to lose track of how much you're throwing at a site.
I pay for access to 2 major newspapers, 3 major magazine info sources. Post seems like a good way to nickel and dime yourself to death. JMO.
Here I know what the pro payment is. Plus, I like it here. 😀
@misslovelymess if you have candles that you can burn in a bathtub, then move everybody you can into the bathroom and shut the door, light the candles and put them in the bathtub or in the sink. You can keep a small room, warm, using candles, and if you have blankets and sleeping bags to keep people from getting cold on the floor, that’s good.
When we had that huge power outage in Texas, I kept the house warm with all the candles and the candle burners I had
@Floki_ I disagree. Raise the minimum wage to $24 an hour minimum possibly more in some states. And then if people who make more now or unhappy about it, they can get raises. Because nobody can live in less than $24 an hour right now.
