Today is really no exception.

I had a visit from my folks. It wasn't good - they're not doing well. Mom's Parkinson's is worse, her dementia is tanking. She's becoming a shell. Dad is exhausted.

It's my birthday today. I'm not having a good time.

On this earth now for more than 50 years, & it's rare that my birthday has ever been about me.

@Horrrflmlvr A belated thanks - I actually got two referrals, one from a neighbor & another from a family friend. I have a removal scheduled for tomorrow.

Not feeling great about the hornets. They're beneficial insects & I'd rather not remove the nest if I don't have to; but they also built right on our property line & I've already been stung once. If they weren't so close to where people are actively moving around (they're right next to the driveway), I'd just leave them alone.

Well, it's a day here today: I have both a plumber & an ISP tech here doing repairs & installation; the T-birds are screaming through the air doing practice right now; & I just discovered a large nest of bald-faced hornets in my hard. Somehow I don't think I'm going to get much work done today...

& it got me thinking: I've known a lot of straight cis guys who prefer long hair on women & may or may not be OK with short hair (some are, some aren't), but I've *never* met a straight cis guy who prefers *short* hair on women & is on the fence about long. Are there any out there?

I cut off all my hair today. It went from shoulder-length to a No.8 guard pixie in the space of half an hour. It's got some bits in the back to trim up but so far looks pretty good.

@Say_what_now @sfleetucker I'm so sorry he did that to you. I agree that karma - or maybe fate, or simply mindless existence - eventually sorts it all out. Some years ago as part of processing everything, I found it helpful to recognize that being him was punishment enough, and even if he lived a long life, he'd always be the shit human he is. I don't have to do anything but work on me. If that makes sense.
