Was in a funeral procession yesterday. The 3rd asshole to cut through it caught my wrath. Middle finger and I beaned a plastic water bottle off their windshield. On the interstate.

Did I over react? I feel it was justified.

@Idrake Maybe a *teensy weensy* bit of an overreaction, but hey good shot! 🤣

@stueytheround it isnt that hard to not be a dick and break a funeral procession line. Third person to do it caught my anger for the first two also.

@Idrake

Younger generations do not move to the side of the road for emergency vehicles, funeral processions etc

Privilege means they have a right to EVERYTHING

@LnzyHou that is likely true. To me it is a sign of disrespect. The top three things that can set me off like a bomb are, abusing kids, abusing animals, and disrespecting the dead.

I know I lost my temper, but on a day like that, that lady's indifference can had a consequence in my reaction.

@Idrake You threw an object at the windshield of a driver who may or may not have understood that there was a funeral procession. You threw it at the speeds of an interstate, when split second timing can cause a crash to a third party. You may have been acting out of grief, but this is the definition of a road rage incident. Not a good choice.

@elbutterfield big long line of cars with hazards onn and she and cut off my aunt who had one an a half car length from my rear bumper. I agree I road raged, 100%.

But how else will people learn they fucked up if you cant communicate to them effectively. I know I got my point across. She waved the "Im sorry" wave as she passed us.

@Idrake I am glad it all worked out. And I am sorry for your loss.

@Idrake I’m cracking up at all the comments as I would have done the same exact thing lmao. How did seeing a hearse and a line of cars confuse her. Bravo (I’m sure everyone is gonna hate me lol but I’m pissy on a bus with no headphones and hearing everyone’s damn convo and coughing and eating)

@Patti1120 @Idrake
Here's the thing. No matter how justified you may have been and how much of an asshole the other driver was, you really don't know how that person might react.

I stopped flipping off asshole drivers several years ago when one of them followed me on the interstate for about 10 miles and tried to run me off the road.

@Patti1120 @Idrake
A couple years after that, there was an incident near me where a guy pulled up alongside a young woman who had previously yelled at him for cutting her off, and he shot and killed her while they were both driving at highway speed.

So I don't flip people off anymore. Honking the horn is as far as I will go. I assume everybody is armed.

@Patti1120 @Idrake
And the other thing to remember is that assholes like that crave attention. The best thing that you can do is pretend they don't exist.

If they are doing something that's truly dangerous, I call the police with as full of description of the car and plate as I can give.

@voltronic @Patti1120 good thoughts. Normally I wouldnt lose my shit at someone on the highway, just yell inside my own car an carry on.

It was the combo of a shit day, and blatant disrespect from multiple people that was too much for me. We all have breaking points, and when you behave like that, eventually you will encoutner someone on the worst day of their life and they will make you regret it.

I hear ya though. Still, it felt good to not hold it in that one time and to let it out.

@Idrake
I totally understand the cathartic experience.

Also very sorry for your loss.
@Patti1120

@voltronic @Idrake you are totally right with everything you said. I get told all the time about my temper and rage. I do tend to hold back as well due to the free for all gun crazy lunatics that are loose at the moment. I don’t think we condone this type of behavior but it does get the best of us at times.

@Patti1120 I have atrong feelings, and I did let the first two go unchecked. But the hat trick was one too many. Strike three.

People need better awareness, and to realize, sometimes you need to just wait your damn turn.
