Just got back from my first band music reading. Oy! They go fast. Good thing I'm also taking lessons.
Meanwhile, my clarinet is in the crapper. It's refusal to play certain notes began in the upper register but has since moved to the lower. Need to find a playable loaner while this one goes to get fixed.
In my town, there is a clarinet band. All clarinets. Nothing else. I heard them perform once at the local public library. To be honest, I didn't think they were that great, but maybe it was just an "off" night. Until then, I didn't realize there was such a thing as a contrabass clarinet!
Too bad you don't live locally. I'm sure they could always use a good addition to the band.

What style do you mostly play?
