Howdy Folks❤️ Been busy getting over whatever I had & attacking our yards again. Get tired/sore easily; resting some.
Living in constant pain's not easy, but, as long as my mind thinks of stuff to do, my body does it's best to follow along, often causing me to over-do stuff; ugh
My city's still has loco uptick in gun violence/retaliations; every🌅there's a drive-by. 2 bodies(unknown causes) found in woods & park w/in the past week. Lady shot in doorway at🏡
I wanna wring these teens' necks!
@janallmac Sorry, very sorry your son went through that!
The mental health of students is a serious issue that needs more addressing in schools, homes, & communities.
The mental health of those committing violence, as well as those affected by it. Innocent kids suffering, afraid to go to school, to bus stops, to🤔anywhere these days.
Pø
@janallmac When I moved here from CT, my 1st impression was of smelling pine trees, tobacco menthol, & overly friendly folks; everyone spoke to everyone, older folks sat on porches waving at traffic, folks visited neighbors with unlocked🏡, total strangers would strike up a convo, service folks were always 'Howdy'ing, & hitchhikers were mostly safe.
Now, much of it's history; 🚪are locked, folks are wary of strangers, & service folks are tired, underpaid, & rightfully not as nice.
A shame😕
@Gramdma2011
It is a shame. 💔
I think maybe part of it is we have forces who are actively sowing discord, to counter that, we have to aggressively build community, twice as hard, and it's not easy.
@janallmac I tend to trust people more than, & am friendlier than, Hubs with strangers. I like to yak when in the mood. He always tells me to watch my back; I do; raised to trust no one.
Even though raised that way until teen yrs(cautious & not as yakky to strangers), I've learned to(by my Grandma) speak to anyone I look in the eyes. To be cordial to folks, & to try to find the good parts in everyone & everything. To smile at folks & speak, even if they don't answer back.
Hard to do now
@Gramdma2011
It is horrible for kids, especially.
We all need to feel safe in our homes and neighborhoods, love each other. That's the way it's supposed to be. We're so horribly broken somehow.
