@NorthernInvader we have squirrels all over the place. To find chipmunks, you have to go to parks and trails and other wooded areas, but we have them too. Squirrels are all over, tho, in our yards and parking lots, in our dumpsters and on our power lines
@NorthernInvader @GlennS I used to have blond ones bring their babies to my bird feeders. Not albino, blond.
@BillieBun @NorthernInvader we've mainly got the eastern grays in my area, with the occasional black squirrel. When I lived in San Francisco it was the opposite, mainly black squirrels with occasional reds or grays
@InUnfunky 😆 😆 😜
I am dead serious when I state the following --
Greenfield, MA (where I work) has a population of "Calabrian" squirrels.
Parked in the lot behind the restaurant one day and walked across the street to the back door...directly in front of me ran a black squirrel, who then shot up the closest tree and chattered away at my dumbass...who just stood there looking like "WTF???" 😮 😮 😜

@InUnfunky my best squirrel story's just about a dumb ol gray squirrel, but I was walking thru the Boston Common and it was really crowded, maybe right after work, and some schmuck in a suit was walking along, minding his own boring business when a squirrel jumped down from a tree, scampered straight up his pants leg and side, across his shoulders and down and off into space, all in a heartbeat, maybe two. He froze in place like he'd just felt a ghost run over his bones. Cracked me up
@GlennS @InUnfunky red squirrels in the UK are taken seriously.
@GlennS We have the Eastern Gray Squirrel here in #southeasternPA.
Well, that's the one who shows up at the bird feeders.
I highly recommend the Squirrel Buster bird feeder. Pricey, but worth it. Bought the first one in 2020. Still have it, still keeps the squirrels out.

watching squirrels go by, my, my, my...
I'll take the one with the skinny legs, because I want to be happy for the rest of my life, and I ain't taking no pretty squirrel for my wife.
@GlennS I love squirrels and chipmunks. Sadly there are none in my part of town.
