What needs to happen is for (D)'s to pick the fights they can win. The (R)'s are going to be making choices that won't need a push back on because the policies will start to hurt even their voters. Those are the battles you stay away from. Let them walk into a trap of their own making.

In the meantime, the (D)'s must rally support and start long term planning for taking on more of the fight later. It's about building resources to fight with.
