Been talking with some nerd friends about building a new computer and my head is hurting. I am woefully out of date with current specs and such. I think I peaked with the Commodore 64.
@Cosmichomicide replacing my old gaming computer, with an eye to streaming. Just a lot of choices over chips (Interl vs AMD) and what GPU to get. Luckily, I have ubernerd friends who are helping me, even though all I am hearing are lots of numbers of letters. I feel like I'm on Sesame Street and they are in Silicon Valley. 😜
Ah, then have at it - it's part of the gaming process. 🎮
@GaryPoole I built my own for 20 years or so, and then did strategic upgrades for another ten, swapping out components, but with the crazy prices on graphics cards, it was cheaper and easier to just wait for a sale at HP on a decent box. I'm sure Dell and the rest have sales going all the time, too. @Cosmichomicide
@GaryPoole If I had a "Spirit Gary" you'd be it!
@stueytheround @GaryPoole I have discovered a silly Australian Gary and their companion Sam who I have subscribed to on YouTube. They are not tech nerds
@GaryPoole I am there. For years, I built my own, but nowadays, I order a custom-built, and let somebody else sweat over making it work.
@GaryPoole
Do you have a specialized need to build? Sound? Graphics? Gaming?
Otherwise, just get your specs and buy commercial. I'm a big one for building but if it's not your thing, hit a few dropdowns and wait for delivery. 🤷
