Question of the Day: What food did you hate as a child but love as an adult?

Asparagus. Hated it as a kid, love it today when steamed with Irish butter and served with a spritz of citrus.

@GaryPoole

Boiled Brussels Sprouts. Roasted they are delish.

@GaryPoole I used to dislike collard greens/all kind of greens and I love them now.

@GaryPoole
As a child I hated liver and onions but as an adult I...
Oh wait, I still hate liver and onions.

@GaryPoole
Liver, because Mum used to grill/broil it until it had the consistency of dried out shoe leather!
Then she discovered cooking it in *liquid* and I was converted!

@GaryPoole
Brussel Sprouts. Learned how to roast them with olive oil and garlic, and some of the leaves get just a little crispy.

@GaryPoole
Brussel sprouts. Mom made me eat them. I tried again as an adult, and finally found success with roasted. Much better!

@GaryPoole Licorice. As a kid I liked all other candy but not that. So I made myself buy it and eat it, thinking that I could convince myself that I liked it. The problem was that it was "Good n Plenty" pink/white things, not real licorice. I kept trying different kinds ever few years, but was in my 30s when I finally tasted real licorice (Panda) and now I love it.

@GaryPoole

Foods I wouldn't eat as a kid:

Cheese
Avocado
Spinach
Peas
Anything I ate had to be plain, no sauces

I don't know how I survived childhood tbh. I didn't like most food lol
