I've always been a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to dating (back in my dating days): coffee, dinner, maybe a picnic in the park.

That said, my most unusual date was taking a girl to the Renaissance Festival with both of us dressed in appropriate garb.

It was a very good date. 😉

Skydiving, and to make it more unique, we passed the time before the jump reading The Importance of Being Earnest aloud while we waited for our turn ;)

@GaryPoole I had a blind date at a mall back in the mid 90's. One of my friends wanted to set me up with her brother and we had a great time window shopping and talking to get to know one another. Back then, Malls were the hot spot for teens to meet up and hang out together, but they are a lost bit of capitalism that no longer get used as much anymore. Never got to repeat that, it was fun and I learned a lot about him and found that we weren't a match. We ended up friends though.

Not unusual, awkward. First date to a popular local place that serves the best hot wings in different levels of heat. I don't do heat, and if I do, it's mild. But, I decided to try medium...bad idea. Pretended I was cool, had it under control. Runny nose, watery eyes, guzzling water like a crazy person. Great first impression...not. I doubted there would be a second date, but we've been married for almost 30 years. I think it was my runny nose that made him realize I was the one. 🤣
