#QuestionOfTheDay: Where did you go the first time you flew in an airplane?
For me, it was to Hawaii (from San Francisco) when I was 8 years old.
Flew back to Detroit from Tampa when I was 19. Circling over Tampa Bay was breathtaking
@GaryPoole From the island of Guernsey to the island of Jersey on the "yellow peril" aged 4.
@GaryPoole
I was 10 and I flew from Kentucky to Florida
@GaryPoole
Ft Lewis Wa. for basic training, Jan 1968.
@GaryPoole To Florida on spring break my first year of teaching. I was 21. Went with 2 other teachers. We went to Cypress Gardens and my friends complained how expensive it was. I didn’t think so. We compared tickets. My ticket was for a child. I did look young, I guess. 😂
@GaryPoole from Providence RI to the isle of Terceira (in the Azores, at the time it was the closest international airport to the isle of Faial which was our final destination). It was a 6 hour flight.
@GaryPoole
From Budapest to Algiers, age 11. My family was moving there. It was a huge deal.
Age 4, unaccompanied from CLE to DEN. My parents were divorced, & I went for visitation w/ my mom. At the time you had to be 5 y.o. to be unaccompanied, so my father kept trying to coach me to say that I was 5. I kept telling him it was a lie, I was (holding up 4 fingers) say, "but, I'm 4". No one ever asked. I got to help hand out pillows, & magazines.
I love flying. The last time I flew, was in 2013, for her memorial service.
@GaryPoole I was 23 - a flight on a 747 from home here in Edmonton (Canada) to Gatwick (London, UK).
Coincidentally this was the flight that kicked off the trip that I have recently been reminiscing about here in a few photo threads.
@GaryPoole LA around that same age. Very exciting.
