For me, a stack of three is just right.

Though in a way it does depend on the size of the pancakes. Small ones, pile them on. Larger ones? I've seen places where just one is more than sufficient.

@GaryPoole i mean, this is size dependent, ofc. but i mean, little saucer sized fluffy pancakes? about 3 is all i can handle w/ a cup of tea. now the butter better be unlimited. & i need the syrup bottle on standby. that is all. 😊

@GaryPoole the stack should generally be stable as long as it is no higher than it is wide.

Any thing less is non-optimal.
