Oh. I know that look. Our Shp/Huskie caught a squirrel. I immediately screamed “Miko, drop!!!”
Obedient boy that he was, he opened his jaw, squirrel hit the ground running and he watched it go up the nearest tree.
Miko turned back to me, scorn on his face. If he could speak human words they would’ve been “dude, really? I had him!”
@Gambit_1 I totally get it, I used to have a Saint Bernard. It was relentless hair.
Last night my Husky caught a field mouse right before bed and I made him release it. This morning he ran outside to look for his “toy” and was very unhappy that it wasn’t where he left it (it ran away). After about 10 minutes of looking he can't back inside and got my other two dogs to help him look….
The look they gave me made it clear that we would need group counseling if we ever hoped to build back the trust in our relationship.
Great idea. I have fresh spinach to use + eggs + cheese = dinner
ByteDance says they'd rather shut down TikTok than sell it.
Interestingly, TikTok is not an app you can use in China.

@th3j35t3r never enough! 🏴☠️ 💕
Avast me hearties!
'oist all the flags an' laugh at the hoodwinking rapscallions over on HMS Google Play. Make 'em walk the plank for tryin' to shiver ye timbers! Keel haul to lot of them until their teeth itch. Tear off their ears and stuff them in their asses so they can hear us as we kick 'em.
H/T @MrGoat for this >>>
Understanding different subject-positions isn't easy work, and many people will suspect you of both-sides-ism for doing it.
But seeking to understand others protects you from two fallacies: straw man and incredulity.
Straw men are fun punching bags that tell you nothing useful about what you're resisting.
Incredulity lets you say "I can't imagine how anyone would naturally hold another POV"--& fill in the blank with conspiratorial conjecture.
Both leave us tilting at windmills.
@Gambit_1 I hope they lose so badly that it ends up creating a precedent that actually *strengthens* the non-compete ban.
Non-competes should never, ever have been legal in the first place. They fly in the face of basically every capitalist economic theory out there, for one. They are BAD in every sense of the word; very bad for worker rights & very bad for the economy.
If you're gonna do capitalism (and to be clear, I don't think we should) at least do it properly, 'mkay?
I know the chamber of commerce is going to challenge this, but I hope they lose. This is a great step forward for employees. https://www.theverge.com/2024/4/23/24138559/ftc-noncompete-agreement-ban
@Gambit_1 @YouInMyEye so true, I ran into a srs addiction when I was working in coffee shops. As it turns out 7 lattes a day is a pretty expensive habit when you have to pay for them. Lol went back to drip coffee after that. Might have to go back to the lattes.
Elon Musk – Dead at 52 – Says There Is No Need for Misinformation Laws

@YouInMyEye idunno, this has never happened before. Guess I switch to tea for a while. Normally if you start to build up a tolerance for stuff you just take a break for a while. But my brain is too adhd and handles stimulants like seditives or just won't let them work at all. So it's a constant balancing act. Too little coffee and I can't think, too much and I'm either falling asleep or I can see sounds. No in between. 😂
