This is the scariest thing I’ve read in a while. https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-features/trump-election-plans-corrupt-voter-registration-eric-eagleai-1234920083/
I’m NOT a lawyer and even I can see the logical flaws in Abbott’s “reasoning.”
It is fluff and nonsense.
He is trying to argue that Texas has a responsibility where it does not. That it has a legal obligation where it does not.
He is a horrible lawyer and a terrible governor.
We need a Democratic governor not a dictator wannabe.
Biden doesn’t control the borders. That is Congress’ purview. And right now the House is more interested in Hunter Biden than they are the border.
Basically, everything Abbott says is wrong. The brain dead Fifth Circuit, for once, gets an easy peasy Constitutional question right.
Texas is NOT sovereign. It isn’t a country. It does NOT control the borders. No matter how much Abbott screams about it, the Feds are responsible.
Abbott is a bad bad lawyer.
@Ironworker229 I’m in a cool gratitude phase reflecting on the year, will probably last all month. And I’m gonna try not to get any holiday stress. Keyword is try.
Y'all, I'm part of the mafia.
Well, *a* mafia - the #SewingMachine mafia. These awesome people share information, buy & sell machines from each other, & even give them away for free. Even better - they have a pony express system set up to get machines delivered. If a member is traveling & has room in their vehicle, they'll pick up & drop off machines on their way to wherever they're going.
Tomorrow I'm getting a pristine 1940 Singer 201 in art deco table from Illinois. All for free to me. ❤️
@Kinnison They spelled "shit" wrong on his tie.
I have a very different opinion about those STILL on #X. Unable to leave the toxicity, chaos, rage & racism of the hellhole, I question their judgment and ability to integrate successfully on #Coso.
Lately, most of the newbies come in with a chip on their shoulder & looking to fight. My block list grows monthly
We are not fully self-supporting each month as too many simply do not scrounge up $4.99/mo to support the platform. How will we support another huge wave of newbies?
I have to shake my head every time I take a look at the Hellsite, for many reasons. This time it's people wanting to know "which platform to use after Twatter." Several suggestions from plenty of people, generally with a "Bluesky or whatever other is most popular" qualifier. Popular doesn't guarantee quality,I mean look at Ed Sheeran.....he's popular but he's also crap.I'm sticking with quality, that'd be right here.
🤔Highest drop out rate in Florida college’s history fueled by DeSantis’ 'censorship': report
I've always wondered about this.
"Most religions adopt the idea of a “savior” and state that the world will remain filled with evil until this savior comes and fills it with goodness and righteousness.
Maybe our problem on this planet is that people expect someone else to come solve their problems instead of doing it themselves! "
There used to be a Dave Matthews song about this very thing..
it's up to us to keep it together, for sure.
Agree. My parents had three children before they bought their first home (tell me THAT wasn’t stressful).
The problem people forget is that America is PREDOMINANTLY low income middle class and the poor — the outliers are high income middle class and the astoundingly rich.
What people don’t seem to realize is that Americans are fundamentally being told OTHER Americans are living better — the data doesn’t show it.
It’s part of the Great Lie.
A holiday stream that has become a staple of mine: Earfuls of Eggnog. It is a full 24hrs of the most random holiday music you'll hear. It's great. If you're very sick of the same old same old holiday tracks, give it a listen.
I’m sharing here because you all mean a lot to me.
My wife’s dad passed away last night.
I also lost my father my father in law, who meant a lot to me as well.
His quality of life hadn’t been good for quite some time… we’re at peace with the fact he is now at peace as well.
Last time my wife was with him, he asked us to take care of his dog Nala. Chuck in the background and Nala on my lap last Christmas Eve
