On this somewhat average day, we are celebrating - we paid off our house! 🎉 We bought it in 2005 and had a 30-year mortgage at 6% at that point, but refinanced to a 15-year mortgage at 3.25% in 2012. We accelerated our payments a bit over the last few years and got the balance down to under $5K, so we wrote a check for the remainder today. #Adulting #Thankful #DebtFreeForALittleWhile 🏡🧾✅

At first, beautiful Mildred was not too excited about the new siblings we adopted as older kittens last June, but she has since warmed up to them quite a bit, so I get to capture cute moments like her naps next to Joey or her hangouts with Phoebe (I love when they’re together - calico powers unite!). 😺

@publickovacs Yep - we’re in MO, too. Thankfully, only one firework went off around us, but there are a lot of pyros in our area, so we were surprised. Our cats hate it, too.

@opie We loved that show and have been following #WrexhamAFC ever since. I missed the match today, but have caught a few that have been televised/streamed in the US. It’s such a feel-good story and Ryan and Rob are so damn funny and likeable. Can’t wait for season 2!

I haven’t done a post about the books I’ve been reading in a while. Since that time, I finished 5 more, bringing my total to 13 for 2022. That’s not quite as many as in 2021, but I had phases where I wasn’t reading as often, until December, when I finished 3 books. These final 5 were enjoyable for different reasons, but I forgot how much faster I read fiction than non-fiction until the last couple of days, which is all it took to read Station Eleven. 😺 #JaynasBookClub #OpenCarryBooks
