@GrandmaJ doggo#1 eats bars of soap and rocks and all kinds of weird things...cantaloupe was almost a relief although we did call the vet about the rind to make sure she would digest it ok. This sticky stain on the outdoor carpet was all she left us...

@GrandmaJ we have a very large hill in the back part of the yard. My thought was to use the bed we currently have near the top of the hill and build a second adjacent bed, also near the top of the hill, and then just let them take over the hillside...

It has worked well for the cantaloupe this season and it's outside of the electric fence area for doggo#1 so she can't eat the produce (last year she ate several cantaloupe).

@Helical_Code Thank you! It's still rather tender and raw so I'm trying not to overdo things and cause the infection to flare up again, but....

Also, no idea how it happened but I'd really rather not do that again.

@yogapaddlerun It was so hard to work yesterday when it was drizzly and overcast. My body was demanding a nap.

We made it to Friday! Someone failed to monitor my internet activities this week and I ended up on a seed site...so many winter squash! I have no idea where I will plant them all, but I'm determined. I may be building a new garden bed this weekend. I also have yarn waiting to be plied, but I had to get my middle finger on my right hand sliced open last week at an urgent care to treat an infection that no one knows how I got, so the yarn had to wait. Maybe this weekend I can play with yarn. ☕

Today was the anniversary of my stroke, will discuss tomorrow. In the meantime, I've got an infection.under the nail on middle finger on the right hand. Went to urgent care for a slice and drain. On antibiotics and pain meds but ugh this hurts.

@StacyKell I'm east coast /NC. We usually have one or two late frosts in feb/early march and then we're generally ok to plant.

@StacyKell This weekend I will be removing most of the summer garden and starting the fall garden. My squash were lost to vine borers. My beans are about done. I'll get maybe one more round of tomatoes before they're done. My cantaloupe are still producing and my okra are prolific, but that's about it. I generally only can 4-8 jars per weekend, but it really starts to add up!

@Helical_Code Doggo #1's obstruction was also due to a ball. She popped it open to get to the squeaker and the little rubber plug got stuck just above her colon. It made a very effective stopper

@Helical_Code I'm pretty sure Doggo #1 has pica as I've witnessed her eat rocks and bars of soap and dirt and all sorts of weird stuff. This is why I don't roll yarn into balls that she might find. She WILL eat it. Obstruction surgery #2 is not high on my list of things to experience.

@Helical_Code I created a huge mess and I was determined not to lose yarn so I sat on the floor and untangled it. Doggo #1 tried to help... #nothelpful

@Helical_Code LOL completely unintentional as my spinning is evolving. I did try (unintentionally) to ply a z twist with an s twist yarn...THAT was fun.

@Helical_Code I do have a modular spindle system that allows me to trade out whorls and shafts. However, the big storage rods spin, so I've literally just been taking the end of my yarn, connecting it to the rod, and spinning it off the spindle and onto the rod.

@Helical_Code I have tried to build something akin to a tensioned lazy kate for plying. We will see how it does.
