We made it to Friday! Someone failed to monitor my internet activities this week and I ended up on a seed site...so many winter squash! I have no idea where I will plant them all, but I'm determined. I may be building a new garden bed this weekend. I also have yarn waiting to be plied, but I had to get my middle finger on my right hand sliced open last week at an urgent care to treat an infection that no one knows how I got, so the yarn had to wait. Maybe this weekend I can play with yarn. ☕

@Foxthorn
I'm sorry to hear about the infection! I hope you heal well.

@Helical_Code Thank you! It's still rather tender and raw so I'm trying not to overdo things and cause the infection to flare up again, but....

Also, no idea how it happened but I'd really rather not do that again.

@Foxthorn Ouch! That infection sounds painful. Good luck figuring out where all your squash seeds will go. Maybe create an arbor. Those babies travel!

@GrandmaJ we have a very large hill in the back part of the yard. My thought was to use the bed we currently have near the top of the hill and build a second adjacent bed, also near the top of the hill, and then just let them take over the hillside...

It has worked well for the cantaloupe this season and it's outside of the electric fence area for doggo#1 so she can't eat the produce (last year she ate several cantaloupe).

@Foxthorn Sounds like a good plan. Just protect that infected finger while you’re working! (I didn’t know dogs ate cantaloupe!)

@GrandmaJ doggo#1 eats bars of soap and rocks and all kinds of weird things...cantaloupe was almost a relief although we did call the vet about the rind to make sure she would digest it ok. This sticky stain on the outdoor carpet was all she left us...

@Foxthorn Well, my doggo doesn’t eat cantaloupe, but what he does eat is often shared. I don’t think we have a carpet in the house that hasn’t been baptized by his barf.

@GrandmaJ lol I used to have a dog that was prone to projectile vomiting...it was the worst. I'm so glad our current doggos are not prone to digestive upset. One of them did refuse to go out to potty in the rain for awhile and would use our green shag carpet rug as her indoor lawn patch. We had a long talk and a long walk in the rain and she's never done it since.

@Foxthorn It doesn’t take much to startle Buddy, then he upchucks. The cost of having a dog, I guess. I have found that those handy wipes clean up the messes pretty fast and usually there isn’t a stain.
