@CrowTheory @agitated_trash We have lost a lot of staff in the last year. I have been in this boat before back in the early 2000's. It did not end well when the workers who remained were asked to do the job of three people to make up for the missing bodies.
@agitated_trash It was! I felt like a failure but I reached a point yesterday where it was either quit one of the projects or quit my job entirely because I can't keep doing this. Now the question is...did they listen to me or were they giving me lip service?
I had to tell my boss that I could not juggle both projects that I've been asked to run. Each one is a 60 hr/wk commitment on its own. I am a human, not a machine. He has not yet found a replacement for me so I fear both may yet end up on my plate and unfortunately the quality of the service I provide will suffer, which means the client pays the price.
That week off from work was desperately needed. I wouldn't mind a couple more. But money must be made and bills must be paid. Coffee in. Work awaits!

@Luber905 I love catching these guys on my camera! They recently cleared a wooded area adjacent to our neighborhood to make room for more homes. This coyote and a slightly smaller one now appear on my camera about once a week if not more.

@Helical_Code I'm alive but on pain meds and sleeping a lot. Surgery was a success but they couldn't remove the stone they had to break it up. I'll have to pass all the pieces. They left a stent in there that comes out in two weeks. The pain I am experiencing now is what I would normally expect to experience when passing a stone. Not fun. Hopefully it tapers off soon.
@Helical_Code RIGHT?!?! how do they expect me to function at this level without coffee?? I am not fit to make good decisions in this state.
It will be interesting to see what size stones pass after they obliterate the big stone.

One more day of work before PTO and surgery. PTO just means putting in my 55 hours in four days this week instead of 5. Today is also the thanksgiving lunch at the office. A feast before I start my fast. Grab your coffee friends and let's get this day rolling!
@Helical_Code I won't lie, sometimes I use google scholar to look at the papers that are citing my work. Where are they published. What country do they originate from. I am also thankful that I am not in academia and I no longer have to publish.
