Not only is there surgery but you have to get up, get showered, get dressed, and get out of the damn house without coffee!
Maybe you can ask them if you can keep the stones to make earrings *just* to see what they would say.
@Helical_Code I'm alive but on pain meds and sleeping a lot. Surgery was a success but they couldn't remove the stone they had to break it up. I'll have to pass all the pieces. They left a stent in there that comes out in two weeks. The pain I am experiencing now is what I would normally expect to experience when passing a stone. Not fun. Hopefully it tapers off soon.

Oh man I'm so sorry that the process will be slow going and more painful than it might have been. It's particularly a bummer that you will be dealing with this over Thanksgiving, but maybe you will have more time to rest.
