@Alfred I was thinking of i-80 across Nebraska from Lincoln to Colorado, which traces along the Platte River. How do those two compare?
@Alfred Yes Hiway 50 is long and straight but not necessarily the flattest section - there are many hills and valleys. Guess again. Clue; not necessarily straight.
@TrueBloodNet
I had to go look up red buckeye. Nice looking shrub/tree. I don't recall seeing them out west where Ive been. Maybe I'm not very observant though.

Goodnight moon.
Half a century ago, and more, I spent many weekends at this spot on the Elkhorn river in Nebraska.
Earlier today I drove by my childhood suburban Omaha house, my elementary school, and my junior high and I found the mulberry tree many of my friends and I spent hours in after grade school, eating ripe mulberries and getting purple fingers - waiting to be written in to a Shel Silverstein story.
@RavenCutrereULC
Given they were created by Mel Brooks they quite certainly are better and smarter than all the others.

Works for me!
But they also should have to post the missing 11 through 15 commandments that Moses dropped on his way down the mountain.
@NMWoman it's about a mile in and I have my cooler and briefcase that have to be brought in. Unfortunately bolt cutters would have prevailed. (It was unlocked as I assumed it would be. I was pretty sure it was just a threatening signpost) Like most of the world instead of just cooperatively getting along, we threaten people to get our way. Why are we built like that?.
Well this is going to be interesting. I'm in a state park that says they close and lock the gates at 10:00 at night. I just got done with my bar hopping after work and I'm almost there but it's 10:01. What do you suppose is going to happen if they locked me out. Oh and by the way, I've now hit four red lights in a row.

https://phys.org/news/2024-06-housing-shortage.amp
There is no housing shortage. There are many more homes than families who need them.
Builders and sellers just keep building unaffordable homes.
Then cities end up with a bunch of homeless people, and instead of treating them as people in crisis who have been forced into homelessness, they're treated as pests, and cities try to criminalize sleeping outside.
This guy is the best YouTube solar power guy out there.
This is a different video than his usual where he reviews, tears down, and tests, batteries, solar panels, inverters, etc.
Here he's really beating down the anti-solar folks by dropping the facts and embarrassing the hoo-rah internal combustion engine (ICE) fanboys, while also allowing there is a role for ICE.
Well today was supposed to be a simple move about an hour and a half east. Load Harley, recumbent, hitch up, fill up, head out about noon.
So 6 hours, 2 RV parks later, camp setup, a motorcycle ride for dinner and beers, then another campsite move (I was not in the best of places, so found another) and I'm finally plopped down and drinking.
Life is like a box of chocolates.
