I thought I saw a mouse in the house. Nope it's a lucky lizard!
Must be getting too chilly outside. Welcome little Lizzy!
Hang out in the plants and eat bugs for the winter. 🦎

Okay, that's a bit odd. Who knows why Vladimir Vladimirov might be one of my Chromebook Users - whose link goes to a Shutterstock.com 404 not found.

My gigabit fiber from CenturyLink went wonky last night around 6:00 then completely cut out. On my phone I could see it there have some issues in the city actually. It looks like all over the place in the US. This morning I got to their website on my phone and had it start checking my address for problems. They must really be firked.

Finally.
New to me sailboat ⛵.
$Free.98
Inaugural sail today.
Picked it up yesterday.
Dude had to move for transfer in 2 days, said take it or he had to landfill it.
Rough but totally sailworthy.
I R a sail-or. 😆

Góod morning 'nauts.
Coffee soaking in the press.
Yesterday I picked up a Santana 21 sailboat ⛵ for...$free! Parts of a little rough, but looks like it'll float. So my buddy and I are headed to the lake today for her inaugural sail after shutting it up to make sure all the parts and pieces worked. Need to replace all the sheets and lines. They're old and weathered,, but sails are fine and it it looks like it'll sail. Woo-hoo!

Day 5 post Fiona. Household water began to flow a couple days ago, full pressure yesterday. Still no power. Intermittent but improving cell svc. Lost an avocado tree at my friend's - these are maybe 1/3 of the recovery. A gigantic ficus tipped over onto another friend's house. I cleared the limbs from stairs for access, then the ones leaning on the roof. Created a shady bower underneath and it should be fine. Forgot pictures. Long gas lines. Need to add the last 4x4 braces to the pergola today.☕

Got the roof metal screwed off and hurricane wires set today, just in time for Fiona to arrive mid-day tomorrow. Need to add a ridge cap and tidy up in the morning. After the storm I'll trim back the gables to fit the metal and re-set the gable rafters for a tight, clean edge.

Good morning Coso!
Mmmm, with Avocado toast - it's great, and I'm not even one of those young whippersnappers.

Trimmed and set rafters and got lath up yesterday and the day before. Hauled up half the tin today. Got an alignment on the truck.Spent time with friends at their poolside and had dinner with them and others. Good day.

Hope yours was too.

WTF. Not even high, yet. Why do I even bother setting a timer for 7 minutes and then adding cold water to stop the cooking of the noodles in the soup and then decide it's time to walk upstairs and haul some more lumber up to the roof and enjoy the sunset and sitting on the wet boards and reading coso before realizing I didn't turn off the heat nor pull it from the heat so a half an hour later...

Where's that post about ADD?

Beautiful moonrise as I suss out my roof angles. Setting them at about 18° for solar panels on the south face.

North side up. Whew.
Started mortise and tenon the 45s about 4pm - too hot and humid midday - so finished with help of a solar light I had. Pixel caught sunset light I didn't see - it was dark. Pixels have great camera/software.

Good morning all!
She found something nice and stinky to roll in and had to have a bath.
Now she's DRAMATIZED.

Alright. My Labor on labor day. A few scattered clouds and doing most my work sitting in a chair under an umbrella 🏖️ helped me not expire from heat exhaustion. Now I have 2 more 45° braces to fit, some long timber-loks to secure them, and the 2 sides are ready to raise tomorrow. Brace and square it up, add cross-beams, rafters, roof sheathing, and Bob's your uncle! Pergola.

Alright. After a week of trying to figure out how to get a permit and finding that it was going to cost me 2x $ the materials, and probably weeks if not more, I'm just going to build it.

A couple of weeks ago someone from the government had reported how the permit process here was so complicated and expensive that half of the buildings on the island are built without permits, leading to problems after hurricanes and earthquakes. I'm just going to lean into that. Ask for forgiveness right?
