Ooooh, dragon fruit!
First time. Yummy.
Kind of kiwi-like.
Lots of tiny seeds crunch right up.
I'm sure it's some kind of superfood.
And my fabric and dye friend wants the skins for natural dye.

Well, good morning all. and Smoothie done. Update on pergola project. Yesterday I rigged a 3-line block and tackle, started with the smaller stuff to test it out and managed to haul all my timbers up to the roof yesterday. Yes, lots of walking up and down to rig the next item and then back up to the roof to pull it up. My calves are sore today, but it worked out fabulously. The only thing left is to pull up the 26 ga. roof panels - later.

Good morning πŸŒ„
Breakfast is served; fried potatos & onions and an egg, with Amarillas fritas.

Base of 4x4s cut for posts. Also, I got a new friend from some folks I know on a nearby farm. Now friend lives next door in the rundown house with the chickens. They sure have been quiet since. 🀫

Cut a couple more posts for temporary railing. No final design yet, just a 2x4 railing using future rafters. Might use corrugated panels. Hauled up most the lighter lumber overhanding a rope. Got some pulleys to rig a block and tackle for the 6x6s and 2x6-16s that are left. Tomorrow.

First a railing...got most of the posts up between rainstorms. No splinters. Yet. Another shower, a couple 🍻, and off to find something for dinner.

Good morning folks! Here's what a 16x16 pergola looks like. Some assembly required. Does not include batteries.

Well here's most of the load, later I got 8 2x6x16s and 2 4x4x12s on the roof rack and drove 15 miles or so carefully home.

It was interesting but it worked just fine.πŸ˜‰πŸ‘

(Don't worry he's look like this for years and has been to the vet and is well taken care of.)

Hey, hello there.
How are you?

I wish you all a good morning and a great day!

I want you all to know I really appreciate you folks here. πŸ™

I have coffee in hand, and later I am going to pick up a bunk-bed but I have a chore to do first. I'm setting a raised tile threshold to keep the rain out. I have them all cut and fit, now to mud them in.

Hopefully no potholes in the process, I want to finish and go visit the beach near where I'm picking up the bed.

To change my mood, a pigeon post from this mornings walk. Time for another cup and a pastry. Hey Google, music on.

Good morning! Coffee brewing.
Enjoying the morning "coolness" b4 it starts to melt the tarmac again. Off around the 'hood to inventory the chickens and cats.

I'll leave you with a positive note.
Dear US America, the kids are alright.

I can handle this. Soon, tacos de mero. Grouper (mero) is the most wonderful tender fish. Delightful, though always battered and deepfried. Haven't found it grilled yet. It may be too delicate for the grill.

Good Sunday all. Productive day planned. I am going to follow the pup's lead. Another cup of β˜• and I'll be ready to nap.

Good morning CoSoNauts, I've had my two cups of coffee and a pastry. It's warming up out there and the internet is out this morning. For diversion, I present to you the world's largest unintentional chicken roost.

Finished installation - free hot water! Need to tie the units down to the rooftop, but they're in near-final position. Solar recirc pump ordered that will run during day keeping the tank at max temp (way overkill, but...cheap). Total system cost about $500 vs. 15-1800 retail installed (w/80 gal tank - way overkill).

But of a torrent today. We get heavy rain almost daily, but I have yet to see an NWS warning here.

On other front, just b4 this hit I tested my refurb solar water calendator panel for leaks and heating capacity. It hit 127F in the sun after mere minutes, and no leaks.
