I knew there was something wrong about the hubub over the Dalai Lama. Relieved.

@hallmarc
That's about how I felt when I saw it. I knew there had to be something innocent in it.
@FireMonkey The Chinese government has been doing this for a very long time. For example, they claimed that the Dalai Lama was trained by Heinrich Harrer, an SS man. (Watch the film "Seven Years in Tibet", or read the book, if you don't know who Harrer was.) And while this is factually correct, the implication that either Harrer or the Dalai Lama were Nazis is totally ridiculous.
@KamloopsBob
Yep. I'm aware.
Nothing new about propaganda and manipulation by governments worldwide.
That movie was amazing
@LnzyHou @FireMonkey Another true story: the first time I watched it, I didn't realized that Harrer was a real guy until they ran the credits at the end.
@LnzyHou @KamloopsBob
I think I passed on it thinking it might be lame. I'll check it out.
I liked it because I’m a Buddhist and then there’s Brad Pitt.
@LnzyHou Sorry, I can't resist responding with this.

Legends of the fall was very sad. Even though it had Brad Pitt.
Agree. It was a despicable attempt to characterize him as a pedo.
@FireMonkey when I first saw it in April I immediately believed it was a bit odd but certainly not an overtly sexual act in any way. The way the crowd laughed didn't sound nervous though so I knew it was a kind of joke. But I'm a multicultural American. I can easily see how the Chinese propagandists fucked with the average Westerner's mind.
