Good morning all. Pipes to toilet and shower frozen. They are in the floor ceiling between 1st and 2nd floor, adjacent but not touching exterior brick wall. No wonder my floors are cold.
BTW, you can too microwave an egg without it exploding, if you crack it first.
Just don't squeeze it when you pick it up. 😉
@FireMonkey sorry about your pipes! Cold as a witch’s boobie even down here in the south!
-8 overnight here in cospgs. Pipes froze before bed.
@FireMonkey 😆😆use a tack, that makes the perfect size hole. No worries about a mess. #BeenThere
Be careful anyway. A guy a know exploded a hard boiled egg in the office microwave because it turns out the coating of the yolk was intact enough for steam to build up
@EileenKCarpenter @JeSsA @FireMonkey I have just Pam’d a boil, cracked the egg and beat sans water…which of course does not work if you actually want a hard boiled egg.
I hope things thaw uneventfully shortly.
@JeSsA
I had baked it with my potatoes for the last 10 minutes in a 375 convection oven. Cracked the first one and it was only part cooked, left the 2nd longer, cracked it a bit and still loose, so gave it to chef Mike for 30 sec. Prob woulda been okay if I'd left it a minute. 😅
@FireMonkey it's a delicate procedure for sure! Sorry about your pipes, hopefully they hold
@dratino
No worries, I hope. They're pex, which can expand with freezing.
Now I'm thinking how to insulate the brick between the floors - where the rim joist would be. I'm in the middle of installing insulation and new drywall on the walls upstairs. Didn't think that the entire 10" ceiling/floorspace is also uninsulated around the edges. #CenturyHome
