@JailTheTrumps Exactly. The ppl who are lobbying to miltarize them & give them huge money-are catering to the concept that "cops keep us safe"-no matter HOW often that's been disproved. If we took cops off of responding to mental health crisis-where many of the "well being" calls they get sent on end in someone dead, if we took them OUT of schools & used those funds to plus up teacher's salaries, to provide healthcare within the community (1/ )

Y'know-i think cops cause more problems than they solve-unless of course you're trying to keep your hoard of stolen wealth from those who created it for you. To pin this solely on the cops is to neglect the society that put those armed bastards in control. There's plenty of blame/accountability to go around. You can't JUST look at one piece of the whole & declare it to be the problem.

But it has to go beyond just the cops-our society creates these crisis by not providing healthcare, housing, education as human rights. You let the population suffer to this degree-you're creating your own problems & using untrained, albeit well armed a-holes to "control" the situation.

The problem is the recruitment & training. They're not selecting or training ppl to enter a situation with the intent of deescalation. They're selecting/training ppl to exert control-at all cost. Shooting unarmed ppl in the back, beating the FK out of & killing black/brown ppl & bragging about it, standing around outside a dangerous environment. Sorry-GTFO.

After watching the protests after unarmed black and brown men & women were murdered by cops with zero accountability-there must be a better way. Having armed thugs who brutalize and kill people, or who simply go in & save THEIR own kids-is not the point.
