The problem is the recruitment & training. They're not selecting or training ppl to enter a situation with the intent of deescalation. They're selecting/training ppl to exert control-at all cost. Shooting unarmed ppl in the back, beating the FK out of & killing black/brown ppl & bragging about it, standing around outside a dangerous environment. Sorry-GTFO.

In point of fact-they have no duty to protect anyone: https://mises.org/power-market/police-have-no-duty-protect-you-federal-court-affirms-yet-again These cops obviously were aware of this. So why the FK they were given all that $$ is truly beyond me.

@Thumprhare @2Echo68Whiskey I'm with you on that-stop miltarizing them, STOP allowing them to murder unarmed/nonthreatening ppl; STOP giving them so much money. But it has to go beyond just the cops-our society creates these crisis by not providing healthcare, housing, education as human rights. You let the population suffer to this degree-you're creating your own problems & using untrained, albeit well armed a-holes to "control" the situation.

@FayreLylith that situation there is no deescalation—LEO should have done their j-o-b and pressed in but they all seem to have that alligator mouth problem. They walk the path of a ‘warrior’ without realizing what means…plus this whole warrior ethos in civilian forces is dangerous imo.
I think we need a police force trained like Europe. 2-6 years of training….intense psychological testing…etc etc. it’s a whole system overall needed.
