I am terrified of the dentist. I think I've lost part of a filling, between two molars. It happened awhile ago, and was never a problem. Until now. There's some soreness when I chew. I know I should make an appointment. I know I'll feel better once it's fixed. But I just can't do it. I'm hoping the pain goes away...Logically I know it won't. Medical trauma is really fucking tough, man.

@Evereigh

I share your phobia but get it fixed. If it decays and eventually requires a root canal procedure, you'll regret it.

@Evereigh I hear ya, it might help if you try to follow the feeling that you will feel alot better to have it fixed then to wait and potentially have it get worse. Focusing on that feeling might help give you the courage to go forward with it.

In the end, it is your choice, we just want the best for you. ❤️ Just don't neglect yourself, you matter.

@MgBarbatos This was an incredibly kind thing to say. Thank you. ❤️

@Evereigh I use Ativan and my husband takes me. Look for sedation dentistry. A lot of places offer it now.

@MsJudyJetson We have very specific dental insurance, so I'm not sure I can find one that takes it, but I'll definitely ask around. :)

@Evereigh I think sedation may come out of medical insurance. Not positive thi.

@Evereigh You’re definitely not alone in that feeling… 🤗 The key for me was to find someone I trusted; I had a bridge fail recently and found a local dentist that worked with me on options including implants and looking to see if the under the bridge could be saved. I opted for the latter and he was able to do it! The final cost was a thirties what implants were and it was all done in a month. A downside was that his practice covert 40% of the fee rather than 100 for others, but worth it!
