Do you like the smell of a bookstore?
@cwithav I know...they are a dying breed. There was one in the village near where I live, but they closed about 5 years ago.
@EdgeOErin there was one in a mall the next town over but it closed down three or four years ago
@cwithav And with COVID, we also lost some of the small independent bookstores and novelty shops that carried books.
Omg, yes. I used to stay in the bookstore all day, sitting on the floor, exploring all the books on the shelf. It was my favorite Saturday thing to do. Unfortunately, all the bookstores in my area closed. Sometimes I take the train into Boston just to sit on the floor of bookstores all day.
The smell of a library is my favorite smell.
@JoyfullyDazed It's unfortunate that so many bookstores have closed, but I think it's fantastic you are a booklover. I too love the smell of books. Following :)
Thanks. 😊
I was just thinking this morning that I need to organize my office over the weekend so I can get to my books. I'm in the midst of thinking of a way to challenge myself to read all my unread books. I'd like to do a book a day, but it might have to be 4 books a week, or something like that. Also considering a coso book challenge for anyone who wants to join. I'm working on the details.
@JoyfullyDazed Wow, that's awesome. I'm also way behind. As I do more writing, I find it harder to find the time to read.
That's been my issue, too. But I miss reading so I'm taking time to immerse myself in it.
@EdgeOErin Yes!
@EdgeOErin
Absolutely love it,
@Alice_UnChained Me too
@EdgeOErin I worked as a bookseller for years, and that's one of the things I miss about being one.
@mach1group I hope you're enjoying what you do now, Drew.
@EdgeOErin Thanks! I do, but sometimes wish I could go back in time to that. Things are so different in bookselling and retail in general now, though. I wouldn't want to do it in this current environment.
@EdgeOErin all bookstores in my area went out of business long ago so I wouldn't know
