Something that bothers me; I often see writers use the word 'erm' when they mean 'uh' or 'umm'. Is this right? I've never said 'erm' in my life, why do I see it so much?

@CWTellsTales Same. It's hard to pour your heart into a story when there is so little time, and no promise of any reward other than your hard work.

@kbsez same. I think that even if CoSo never reaches a fraction of the reachable user potential of twitter, the community is so much better even if it never grows beyond this point. I wish I knew about this place sooner, it's exactly what I was looking for.

@LindaTeppler I understand. I've been broke my whole life, slave to the grind, felt like I had no way out. This job is the best paying one I've ever had and now I want out because its destroying my body and health, and it eats up all my time.

I dont know if I will ever make a living with my writing, but I want to have a mushroom farm. Thats the dream right now.

@LissaGromley Yeah, same. On paper, I just drive around all day in a truck, but its 14 hours a day, its not easy, and it takes its toll. I'm ready for winter, I can say that for sure.

@P_D_Austin I get that. Dreams are hard. Having time for them is even harder. I think they're important though, for a fulfilling existence.

I write during the winter months; when I'm laid off from paving. During the summer, I think about what I have written, analyze my characters and my story, and visualize where it will go when I can write again. Its what keeps me going when sweat is pouring out of me in the hot sun standing on 400 degree blacktop wondering why the hell I do this for a living.

Whats your day job? What are your dreams?

Started writing a new character today. This is the first time I've written anything for my book since the paving season started in April. It feels good, I have so many ideas I've been working out in my head all summer and cant wait to put them to work.

Common story: Someone comes here from over there and discovers the difference. They start to think about how social media impacts the rest of their lives. How that vitriol and hatred never stays online, how it spills over into bad feelings and short fuses and needless arguments in the real world, how it impacts them and theirs in ways they never realized.

They see that they're better here.

That's what makes this place so special. Spend some time here, and you'll see for yourself. ✌️

@RCLZ yeah, I did see that somewhere. I just tell myself that its just extra style angles.

@MKMartin thats a cool idea, I could see how that could be a solution, especially with the antiviral and immune boosting properties of many mushrooms.

I thought about mycellium as a cause of a zombie infection. Mycellial networks replacing neural pathways in the brain and hijacking the body. Maybe I will, but I love mushrooms too much, and don't want them to be the bad guys.

@Lillyrat its totally worth it. If you buy ready to grow fruiting blocks, its fairly easy and you will usually get good results.

This is my first attempts at making my own blocks, and I'm learning a lot. One day I would like to have a fully functional mushroom farm and sell locally, but I'm a long way away from that.

@sazemisery me too. right now, lionsmane and king oyster are my favorites, but I'm excited to grow more varieties.

The mushroom farm is looking good this morning. This is my first run of grow bags, and they're not fully colonized because the substrate was too wet, but they're still growing strong.

I have 2 lions mane blocks, and 1 king oyster right now. Cant wait to eat them.

Good morning CoSoNauts! Time for coffee and enjoying what democracy is left in this slowly less habitable planet.

Just my 2 cents: The fact that certain countries are blocked from here is a major factor in my choosing this site over others. I don’t think we should have to sacrifice our democracy (not to mention sanity) for the sake of some all-or-nothing idea of openness.

When you consider that most of the banned countries would block their people from accessing this site anyway, while destroying our community with their disinfo and postoperative campaigns, it just doesn’t make sense.

@mrfumblethumbs thanks! Yeah, we gotta hold eachother up, because who else would? Writers are a special group, and I've loved being a part of the writing community on twitter, so coming here is very exciting.
