Squire Classic Vibe Baritone Telecaster Custom arrived. Reduced relief in the neck, will be fiddling with saddle height for a few days, but I'm very pleased! #newguitarday

Baritone Telecaster? Cool... what's the gauge on those strings?
@TheAbbotTrithemius It came with 14-68 but I went down to 13-62, partly so I could install some nicer tuners (Hipshots, which only accommodate up to 62), It still has a great growl, but now it's a bit easier to bend and feels closer to the gauge of my acoustic, which also uses 13s.
I also wound up replacing the pickguard with pearl and cleaning & conditioning the fretboard. It's in good shape now!
It's a really unique interesting sound.
I love playing chords on my bass and wonder if it might be worth trying or if they'll sound basically like a guitar with very thick strings?
@TheAbbotTrithemius It is essentially a throatier guitar. Tuned to B, it's higher than a bass but starts invading that sonic territory.
