25 movies per year are added to the Library of Congress National Film Registry. There is some argument over what constitutes a classic vs modern classic and so on as we all come to realize that Pulp Fiction is a 30 year old movie and Jaws is turning 50 next year. 😱
I'm thinking:
Silent Era - kinda obvious
Studio Era/Golden Era - talkies to mid/late 60s
Blockbuster Era/Classic Film - 70s-2000
Modern Classic - Turn of the century to present.
You might be realizing you are a Vintage Person if:
The remake of one of your favorite movies is a decade old.
You know what the Hays Code was.
You remember when the PG-13 rating was released, pissing off teens and having the unintended side effect of their sneaking into the odious Red Dawn.
You have said, "See, at the time it was released, those were ground breaking special effects."
I may need to lay down now.👵
I laugh every time bell bottoms (wet, torn hems), bell sleeves (drag 'em through your food) and jumpsuits/bodysuits (good luck peeing) come into fashion. 🤣
