I'm really not kidding at this point that Texas seceding would benefit the country. Abbott has declared quiet war on other states. Getting rid of Elon in the deal would be a bonus.

Huh.

I might regret saying this. And I definitely do not like Abbott at all, some of the things he does are so hateful. But what the heck, here goes.

It really sounds like Texas has a problem with migrants and nobody wants to help them.

Maybe we could focus on helping both the migrants themselves and also helping Texas deal with the influx?

@janallmac

Texas has a self created problem exacerbated by Republicans voting down both asylum funding, border funding, and immigration reform.

They have literally voted against what you suggest.

@janallmac

Also, 350 people isn't an invasion, it average attendance at a HS soccer match. They are just throwing people on buses and sending them random places for media attention and money.

@Cosmichomicide I actually was blocked from reading the article you posted, so I didn't see the numbers. I'm sure the amount of migrants Texas receives is larger than that overall.

For reference, this is the article I read, and it seems this has been happening for at least two years: msn.com/en-gb/news/us/nj-mayor

Yes, it's a much larger number. Which is why spending money on performance art for a small group is not winning them any sympathy among anyone but the "Keep the Browns Out" crowd.

Maybe Texas should ask California for advice on how to manage border crossings effectively and utilize modern technology instead of throwing money to contractors to build walls. 🤷
