@Cosmichomicide Good for women who can afford the trip, can get the days off work, and who have childcare. Abortion access has never been an issue for people rich enough to own a Supreme Court Justice. For poor women it's a problem.
It's a problem for an ER doctor who must decide whether to save a woman's life at risk of going to prison, or wait and see how the situation develops as he consults his lawyer, or advise her to run for the border.
Watching trends and the doctors are leaving as well.
I understand the argument and it sure would have been great had people thought about it in 2016, but that time has passed and the options in breeder states now are IUDs, Plan B, and a border crossing fund or relocate.
The long term fertility damage is heartbreaking, but I don't see this changing quickly.
Having been in NC when John Edwards channeled the fetus, our malpractice rates went through the roof, and OB/GYNS moved out of the state - people start noticing when there are no doctors taking patients. But it takes a while for them to figure out why.
