Wow. I dropped in on #Twitter to see if there was news on the remaining races - which I would normally find pretty quickly. First thing I ran across was a Carter Center account announcing the death of President Jimmy Carter and the "news" being shared.
Spoiler: He's not dead. That wasn't the Carter Center (I follow them).

@singlemaltgirl Right. The issue is that, with the new "verified that you have $8 and nothing else" accounts, there are a lot of these kinds of tweets circulating. People absolutely cannot trust blue checks on Twitter without clicking through, reading up, double checking, etc.
And, there's really no going back now. So I'm sure we will see some other new piece of brilliance shoved out half baked.
