From Dr. Katelyn Jetelina on the Bird (i hate that place SO MUCH ugh)

Flu data out today.

I quote: "Holy crap."

Medical people in the comments are BEGGING YOU to get a flu shot. They say it's been shown to be 48% effective in the Southern Hemisphere.

🐦 🏮 on why the Dems deserve blame in the railroad contract dispute and not just the Reps. Democrats removed the only mechanism rail workers had to get sick days, knowing Reps wouldn't vote for it.

They sacrificed rail workers mental, physical and family well-being at the altar of profits and the economy.

It's important that we hold politicians responsible -- especially those "on your side" --instead of accepting their whataboutism regarding the opposition.

For the third year running, wind, solar, and batteries will account for roughly 80% of new capacity, meaning that sun, wind and water will generate 22% of US electricity this year, more than coal at 20% and nuclear at 19%. The day they said would never come has arrived: clean has beaten coal, and gas is next.

REPUBLICANS favor white supremacy.

DEMOCRATS fight climate change.
REPUBLICANS deny climate change.

Being in a car-dependent country sucks. The answer isn't plugging the road with EC's. The answer is fixing public transportation. In some places, you have to have a car, no matter what. Fuck cars!

Question I am pondering:

If an industry is so critical to the well-being of the population, is it imprudent to leave that function up to private enterprise? The profit motive means the operators will take more risks (notwithstanding whatever regulatory oversight exists).

WHY IS WALKER STILL IN THE GEORGIA RUNOFF?

He just claimed his $1500 TEXAS HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION.

"Federal law does not require Senate candidates to reside in the state they plan to represent until they are elected.

"But under Georgia law, aspiring candidates must meet certain residency requirements before they can run for office; those conditions include the location of any homestead tax exemption."

@DerMudeTude I think you are correct, staying and "fighting" only helps him keep it a viable site

Being left leaning politically, I understand the argument that Twitter can't be allowed to become a fascist playground while accounts that spread awareness are silenced. I just can't stomach feeding the beast, even with blocking advertisers, being a daily active user gives the company value.

I've resorted to googling the couple Twitter handles I got value from for updates. It has worked out well, I get what I'm looking for without contributing to the daily active user count there. Or getting caught doom scrolling endlessly. Am I the only one?

I truly appreciate the algorithm free approach here. Although it takes a little more effort to get started, its been worth the effort I've put in. Slowly feeling the anxiety and outrage addiction from corporate soc media fade.

House GOP deletes tweet stating, "Kanye. Elon. Trump" shortly after Ye endorses Hitler on Alex Jones' show.

Capitalism would never allow a replicator to exist to its true potential, too many people would go broke. Replicators didn't create the Star Trek future, the Star Trek future comes first, then replicators.

People who have a false dichotomy worldviews (i.e., Republicans), very often have difficulty using and understanding metaphor.

Kevin McCarthty voted against
railway deal. Just asked him about how sinking plan could prompt a strike. “If my position held out we'd actually have it done by the private sector a long time ago, and we’d have efficiency. We wouldn’t have inflation, we’d have a secure border."

It's been left to 'the private sector' for years, and they've turned this nations railway workers into slave, no holidays, no sick days, limited over time, McCarthy is in the pocket of Corporations, as is the rest of DC
