If one today was to design a high density, radiation proof, vacuum proof, very light weight, information transport system. That was extremely robust, and stable over a very long time. Survivable in all environments. You could not do much better than mycelium spores.
@corlin yeah i wonder if sonic the hedge hog could really survive on the mushroom planet though lol

Sonic the hedge hog, is just a hallucination caused by the fruiting bodies of some mycelium.
