Joe's bro came by, and I slipped into the planned conversation perfectly. He was actually interested when I was discussing knowing your own values and beliefs, I pointed out to him that regret means we are not acting in our true nature, and I like to live with few regrets. He started talking about his obsessions, and I started using the journal page to highlight how to regain our energy through actionable plans, and knowing what we can control. Went better than I thought it would. Seeds planted.
@tippitiwichet the mirror matches the model. Very cool. Just walkin around, reinforcing the lesson.
@Coffee_and_Salt I can't believe I forgot to mention the adorable part. After we were done talking, my six year old picked up her emotion book (a flip book with little pictures for different emotions and some tips on coping with various ones), and followed him around trying to help him by talking about anger. Such mirroring skills!
